Programs for Women, Weather Addicts and Wrestling Fanatics Join FiOS TV
From Rembrandt and Van Gogh on canvas to Hawk and the Animal in the ring, Verizon FiOS TV is continuing to build a broad spectrum of choice and entertainment for viewers.
Among the most recent programmers to sign-on to FiOS TV are the fine-arts network and World Wrestling Entertainment's subscription video-on-demand service.
In a flurry of agreements this week, other additions to the FiOS TV lineup include Lifetime Television; the TV shopping network, HSN; Jewelry Television; Ovation, and two separate services with The Weather Channel, which will provide weather reports customized specifically for Verizon customers in each of the geographic areas in which they live.
The agreement with Lifetime Television includes Lifetime, Lifetime Movie Network and Lifetime Real Women. The HSN agreement includes HSN and America's Store.
The programming is part of the FiOS TV offer now available in Keller, Texas, and it will be available in future FiOS TV markets. The agreements were signed prior to the Sept. 22 launch of Verizon FiOS TV in Keller.
"These networks connect FiOS TV customers to a wide range of programming to satisfy their passion for shopping, educational and original programming, as well as popular reality TV and diverse theater, dance, opera and visual arts programming from around the world," said Terry Denson, director of programming and marketing for FiOS TV.
"In addition, we're satisfying devoted WWE fans who are passionate about watching the wrestling action of their favorite superstars of yesterday and today, and our subscribers will have the benefits of The Weather Channel's national forecasts plus the added convenience of customized local weather reports in each region we serve."
Verizon FiOS TV offers customers a competitive alternative to cable or satellite by delivering hundreds of other digital video and music channels, high-definition programming, video-on-demand content, an interactive programming guide and other customer-friendly features via the company's fiber-to-the-premises (FTTP) broadband network.
We're already constructing FTTP networks in half the states where it offers landline communications services.
