A Belgian man on trial for having sex with dogs has told the court that he did it out of "out of love for animals".

His reasoning for doing so was that many animals can’t have sex because they are locked up in refuges. The man himself worked in one such refuge before his antics came to light.

The man who posted thousands of pictures on the Internet of himself having sex with dogs could face up to 6 months in prison if found guilty.
