A group of groups aligned with the Democratic Party have begun filing lawsuits in Florida, relating to the US Presidential election.

The nine lawsuits claim minority voters have been denied the right to vote through various legal technicalities. Florida Secretary of State Glenda Hood is named in some of the suits, among others.

Kerry campaign spokesman Matt Miller claimed Republicans are "trying to scare people away from the polls." Bush campaign manager Ken Mehlman, said Kerry's campaign would use "fraud, intimidation and lawsuits... to try to shoehorn a victory."
