RealNetworks Says the Future of Computing is - Television


RealNetwork's CEO has said that the company is looking to make a move from the computer platform to television sets.

"The PC is the most flexible platform today. But five or 10 years from now, the majority of our users won't be on PCs," Rob Glaser said. "What we're doing is inventing the future of television."

RealNetworks is already basing their subscription service on the model used by cable television, where users pay a flat rate for a wide range of programming.

I see the future as a combination od cell-phone, T.V. computer, and Movie Rentals thru some sort of online crap. Slowly T.V. are becomeing a sort of computer, but so are cell phones, and P.C.'s are becomeing more of an entertainment device.

But to say the future is T.V. foflmao I doubt it.
