A representative of the Grand National Party in South Korea is trying to introduce a law which would mean that users of internet bulletin boards would have to use their real name when posting political comments concerning elections.

Civic groups and I.T. companies have come out and voiced strong opposition to the proposal, suggesting that they may ignore it even if it passes into law.

Some say that the basic concept is unconstitutional and plan to take it before the Constitutional Court of Korea. In the US a similar law was proposed but the Federal Court defeated the motion on constitutional grounds.
