i recently reinstalled my windows xp pro, and now for some reason when i try shutting down the computer just restarts so theres no way i can shutdown except by either booting into one of my other OS'es or just press the on button twice (which shuts off my computer). anyone ever heard of this kinda problem and is there a way to fix it??

I think my Win2k rebooted last time I tried to shut it down. I don't know if this is a reaccuring problem though, cause I almost never shut down my computer.
OK, first make sure FasShutdown is disabled: Change the FastReboot data value from 1 to 0 in the following registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Shutdown If you still have further problems go here .
i would suggest that you take your windoze box and toss it out the door and get a linux box it will be much more effective <img border="0" alt="[Machine]" title="" src="graemlins/machine.gif" /> windows! <img border="0" alt="[Satan]" title="" src="graemlins/satan.gif" /> <img border="0" alt="[Satan]" title="" src="graemlins/satan.gif" /> <img border="0" alt="[Satan]" title="" src="graemlins/satan.gif" />
