Following reports on the Cuban leader Fidel Castros health (SN reported) President Fidel Castro has called reports from the United States that he is suffering from Parkinson's disease as wishful thinking.

In a five hour speech to Havana University students, Castro pointed out that his ideological enemies had declared him dead on many previous occasions adding that he had never felt better.

Castro added near the end of his speech that anyone who hopes that the Cuban revolution will end with his death will be proved wrong. Castros health has been subject of speculation for much of his 46 years in office.
