A HU card is the smart card that is inserted into your reciever which contains the code for your dish programing. With a smart card reader/writer these cards can be unlocked to allow all programing to be availible to you.

so say i was to get a satelite dish and the reciver has one of these "smart cards" on it is there a way to unlock everything on the card so i get all chanels on it without the satilite company finding out?

yep .. just like that... but you wouldn't be able to get firmware upgrades for your reciever.. but that's not a problem. You still get everything for free, PPV HBO .. everything.

I socialed a friends mum into payin an extra $5 a month to add my reciever to their account :x. I get all upgrades and every channel.

um Dish Network i think lol.. liek 90 channels of sports, 100 chans of movies, plus local stations of like 32 cities lol.. my mom likes it cas theres like 7 christian chans, i love it cas theres like 9 porn chans lol..

9 porn channels on dish network ... =( no my friend... dish network only has 4 =) (don't ask how I know)

Actually, Cinemax = Latenight = just as much porn as playboy TV...

wow that pretty cool, BUT how do you do it? I mean you can't just plug it into your computer or anything. so how is it done? do you type a password in or something? and what happins if the dish company finds out? or is it even possible for them to find out?

Smart card programmer + box of smart cards = godly... Or you can find them online programmed.

The smart card programmer is $200 online or you can find plans still i believe.

All they do is deactivate the card, and possibly the dish also. The do this by whe your box downloads options and updates, it snags an alternative patch which after an update it crashes your reciever.

I found that the emulaters seem to be the best way to go now after the whole "black sunday" thing. cause the emulaters are not afected by any "ecm" so it would be a lot cheaper too invest in that than to invest in geting a card and a unlooper, cause the card could be destroyed by the networks future ecm trys...
