i have a full install of fedora core 2, i have se linux disabled and i get the error:
"Operation not permitted" when i try to read
data from the file /dev/kmem..

I am running everything as root... anyone knows whats the problem? i try this in an old read hat release and it works without any problem...

What are the permissions/ownership of the special file?
How are you trying to access it?
What kernel version are you using or does fedora have its own kernels? I forget I haven't touched fedora. If you are running an se linux system permissions will be a lot more strict.
