Ok, I've been a flash designer for some time, and since I've heard many questions about flash I'd take the time to post some stuff...

A "decompiled" or "decompressed" flash file has a source of a .FLA which resembles the following:

See, theirs not that much you can do with either file, its not even all that interesting, but you CAN NOT extract the .FLA from a .SWF file, I don't know of any decompressers, but I'd be willing to listen if anyone has anything.

Right, even when you import a SWF file into the Flash editor you don't get the original FLA file. the SWF file is compressed into one stream all you can do really is add to it.
