Ok, first off, I'm extremely pissed off right now. If parts of this are irrational or convoluted and profane I apologoze. Now, to the post:

Kiddies, you've pissed me off. Actually, the general attitude here, from everyone, has pissed me off. Taking a quick look through the newbie section I discovered that nearly every thread is marred by flamings and arguing. What the hell?

Some kid is trying to be cool, he had some shitty comment about griff in his sig. It's not funny. It's not cool. It's fucking annoying and stupid.
What point are you trying to get across? That you don't like griff? No one gives a shit. Actually, scratch that--no one should give a shit. Too many people do.

You won't respect people if they don't respect you first? Man, respect isn't given, it's fucking earned. Yes, most people should be civil before they get a look at your character; that doesn't mean they have to bow down to you. You're wrong you get called on it. Simple as that. Grow the fuck up.

This is a place of learning. This isn't a place to make yourself feel cool and part of the 1337 kidz. It's not a place to feel smarter than everyone. It's not a place to act like a fucking jackass. When I was active, did I flame? Yes. Was it earned? Yes. Was there advice hidden in there? Usually. NO post here should be pointless flaming or arguing, it's a waste of bandwith.

Grow the fuck up. You come to UGN Security and you'll meet some cool people, you'll learn some cool stuff. I like UGN Security. I like the people and the wealth of knowledge that is (seemingly) hidden here, and even though I'm not here much, it's still nice to come here to relax now and then. Don't fuck that up for me.

I suggest that this topic be closed before people start trying to defend themselves. This is a wakeup call post, and doesn't need any comments, but I agree totally tbg (though I might be part of the problem).

Hmmmm, well I for one(I'm Learner) am open to a suggestion as to how to get back on track. Hell I would even be willing to give up some time if needed. I dissagree that things are that bad around here, but I am allway up for making any place more educational.

My last day of finals is tomorrow. I'll have a Servlet and JDBC tut for you (Learner) some time this weekend. Then I might do a JSP one if I learn it. I'm working on a servlet project now though, so that's the focus.

yeah, thats me. originaly it was some shitty coment about perg because he called me a moron, and i was acting all pissy about that for a good 20 minutes, now ive sort of stoped caring about pergs thoughts, so i basically replaced him with griffon. it wasnt ment to be taken so seriously, just ment to piss griffon off for a few minutes. if it bothers anyone...well, chill.

I totally respect TBG and yeah there are alot of flames, but look at the ppl getting the flames. There are two types of flames here. Flatout flames and flames to get a point across that usually still help. I think a vast majority usually consist of #2. So the first type may be on quite a few now, but it is just a coincidence and it is the same ppl asking for it.

Grif posted a great tutorial. Not great content wise, but b/c he was obviously willing to use time and effort to contribute something. I commended him for that and gave him positive feedback. As did a few others. The other post didn't deserve anything like that. Flaming doesn't seem to be unwarranted.

Anyways, my point. There may be flames, but it is deserved. And very seldom it is a group of flatout flames such as in Actual Opium, but that is only when it is repeatedly asked for.

As for the last 10 posts in the newbie section. atleast 7 helped the person, most in multiple attempts. Two were flat out flames and one was debatable. So some flaming or not, the newb's still getting helped. Hell most of the flames weren't even targeted to the newb asking the question, and often ppl realized they were flamed for a good reason and apologized.

Ok.. umm, wow yeah its time like these that I have a good reply but it just doesnt come to me in a way that it makes sense.. so i leave it to the rest of you heh. cuz like simple things seem to piss people off, how long are we gonna go Bitching about stuff like flames.. and oh he told this guy that, and this and that, give it up. sigh* i dunno im not putting anyone down and i dont want it to seem that way therefore i shall end my post here.

Anyway, People listen TBS, he knows his shit. I haven't visited the boards in a few days, and when I came back I see that UGN Security has been hacked, along with everyone posting gay pictures and calling everyone else bitches. Maybe they deserve it, but it's still wierd to see so much negativity on this board. I'm just not used to so much fighting here.

Generally here, we greet stupidity with flames as of late. Stupid questions recieve flames to which they should, since if someone asks something bordering on illegal or against site rules they should be educated on a few things.

Generally the staff will only flame if provoked or someone violates the rules, which i will back them up, everything else they were told to ignore.
