Ooooook i load UGN Security and i am greeted by this very loud and annoying banner at the bottom, its like this slots one, and it goes (dada dada dada) sure u can take the sound off but ah! it scared me like that other one that talks and its annoying.

oh the suggestion... umm i dunno get.... oooook thats it! i just got yet another banner on "video chatting" and it talks, OK i know my suggestion, get some non-interactive talking banners heh. yeah im being dumb but since i Just had to complain ill do it here.

UGN Security has to advertise, thats how UGN Security stays alive through advertisement.

I don't get any pop ups neither. Sometimes I do on the buttom right corner, but closing it is simple.

My speakers don't work, made a stupid virus and it actually worked. My damn friend opened it on my computer. It looks like it killed my speakers too.

Im not being a smart ass.Im just making a god damn point, he doesn't need them on all the time.

I really think that, spaming someone with, banners, pop-ups, pup-unders, and now with singing banners, and god knows what else, will not help anyone ! I mean, really, who the hell clicks on all the pop-ups and all the banners ? When all you'll get by clicking on them are even more pop-ups. And now, to make things even more stupid, when you install something like PopupKiller, they have pop-ups that detect that you have PopupKiller, and will not let you enter the site, and will spam you with a really stupid message like : "Turn It Off NOW, or this message will keep apearing !!!". So you see, there is no end to this. It's all fucked. There are banners that are ok, because they don't do much to anoy the user (except the more recent ones that scare the shit out of you with the weird sounds), but what I really hate are Popups, and I hope that UGN Security will never have to use something like this.

I have no popup software and I have yet to see any advertisement here aside from the one asking my to join a satanic cult.

jon, maybe it's cause you have kazaa lite installed and had kazaa lite create a hosts file that includes an entry for servedby.advertising.com. That would effectively block the ads. I did this months ago when the first java or flash or whatever ad popped up.

That's probably why I don't get any popups or banners either. Though maybe it's because I never go to the main page, as well. I'm not sure about that, are there banners on the forums too? Never gotten one ever

Go to http://www.kazaalite.com and download the hosts file on the site. Then copy that and the banners are gone.

We get enough users that click them to generate about $300 a year, after the new design (which parts are waiting on BP) we should be able to configure it so that advertising.com can go fuck themselves .

BlackSpider- No offense, but I think you are a fucking idiot. If people have their speakers on then usually it is for a reason. And I am guessing he listens to music most of the time, or enjoys the sounds and background music of websites and video. You aren't making any points at all. Advertising is annoying as hell, and audio advertisements cross the line. You do not just accept shit like this and say you can close popups. If I email you every day, you could just delete them. Or, you could block me. But it only takes a second to delete them.

Your point that UGN Security has to advertise is beside the point. I might be wrong, but I am pretty sure Advertising.com isn't giving gizmo any more money for those fucking talking banners. And even so, that is still over the line.

The hosts file thing helps incredibly. Also, if you get alot of popups at the sites you go to, I suggest a pop up killer, PUK 4 was ok, but I have heard there are better ones.
