I am a huge computer gamer, I love to play them.
The computer i have now is to slow to handle everything I put into it. I have been saving money for a long time to get a new (custom) one. What are the best computers, or computer parts I can get. (Keep in mind, I'll be using this computer mostly for games.)

what ever you do, for your video card buy a PCI-Express card,,,way cheaper than AGP and way BETTER.

Get yourself an AGP graphics card with either GForce or Radeon chipset with at least 128mb ram (NewEgg has a decent 256mb one for under $100).

I'd go with at minimum an 80GB hard disk at 7200RPM (if you're serious about gaming then NOTHING under 7200RPM!).

Ram, at least a gig; processor, at least a 2.0ghz or equivelant (Myself I prefer the AMD Athlon 3200 and above).

Newegg will have the cheaper prices 90% of the time; plus the rate that they get shit out to you is well worth the $10 you could save shopping anywhere else.

Well, yeah, most $2000-$3000 freaks of nature ARE really good at gaming, but most people don't have enough money for one SLI compatable graphics card, let alone two.

P.S: Holy @&#%!!!

AMD Athlon XP 3200+ Proc = ~$200
Soyo KT880 Dragon 2 Mobo = ~$80
ATI Radeon 9600 256MB = ~$90

All you have to worry about is a case and ram then a hard disk... I don't see that as 3 grand; unless you where to buy it from a company preassembled...

With AMD/GeForce's specs it would be. Who really needs two nvidia 6800's?

'eh, it all depends on if you want it "good" and "overkill" and an overpriced piece of shit or if you'd like it "good" and "overkill" yet "affordable"

BTW, you can technically get a Leadtek A400 TDH Geforce 6800 128MB 256-bit DDR AGP 4X/8X Video Card for under $200 each...

16x pci-express slots are better than 8x AGP.
