Scientist working for IBM have smashed the so called "Red Brick Wall", the supposed physical limits of the operating frequency of silicon being used for transistors. According to Moore's Law the speed of transistors is supposed to double every 18 months, and this was supposed to hold true until scientist realized that they could only push silicon so far. This limit for silicon which was called the "Red Brick Wall" was just broken.

Maybe they wont have to switch to Indium Phosphate after all. A new material supposedly faster and more efficient than silicon, but still isn't yet functional except for an VCO oscilator
