Medina Ohio---George Gillespie says he was humiliated in a chat room by two other people and is suing AOL for not doing anything about it. Gillespie claims the other two men made it so bad for him that they caused emotional distress.

The Lawsuit was filed in September and Gillespie states that one of the persons named in the lawsuit came from Alabama to file a change of address form so he wouldn't get any mail.

A second person named in the lawsuit claims that Gillespie caused his own problems. Nicholas Graham, spokesman for AOL, has no comment on the case but said AOL has some strict rules for its members to follow.

people need to chill the fuck out and deal with it, getting shredded on the internet. People are people, and they'll do some stupid shit, but for someone to go and sue a company for having his feelings hurt, god damn money ain't gonna help none! That guy needs to chill out and smoke a bowl or drink a martini on a beach somewhere or sumthin man, he just needs to keep doin'.

I had a horrific instance like this in a chatroom. It was so overwhelming. I was so hurt I could do none of the following:

-Ignore the individuals
-Part the channel
-Walk away from the computer
-Accept the fact the server was not responsible for users actions

dude i wish i could sue for customers being verbally abusive towards me at work but them again i am allowed to basically tell them to shut up or i'm hanging up

I will never understand how someone can get mad at text. I mean when you are chating it is text. You do not know this person, nor should you care about them. So why would you let thier insults "hurt you"? This is I am sure the same guy who crys every time a girls dumps him because he is more sensative than her.

Probably the same guy who cries like a 3 year old when he gets a boo boo...

Seriously there should be a sceening test to stop dumb people from being online.

With eharmony, my mother-in-laws friend took the personality test 4 times under 4 different accounts and was told each time her personality is NOT a sutable match for ANYONE on the site (and in my opion the whole world)...

And as for a screening test to get online, I was thinking a screening test to breath. If you fail the test, you cease to live. This guy for example, fails the test without even getting a change to take it.

yeah, it doesn't help that they're on EVERY 20 SECONDS. geez, do the people that make these commercials really expect people to buy and enjoy their product when the run the damn thing so often? one of my biggest pet peeves.
