The rights and wrongs of using radio frequency identification (RFID) tags on humans have been debated since the tracking tags reached the technological mainstream. Now, school authorities in the Japanese city of Osaka have decided the benefits outweigh the disadvantages and will now be chipping children in one primary school.
The tags will be read by readers installed in school gates and other key locations to track the kids' movements.

Parents can see kids' grades, assignments, attendance records, and even what they were served for lunch (though not whether they actually ate it). Students can check their grades. Teachers can study demographics. Jesus, okay it starts with good intentions. Next we chip prisoners for safety. But wait we forgot to deactivate one upon release. He is now a escape convict even though he isn't.
Next we tag everyone for thier own safety. Now police can track anyone anywhere. Add a world wide database and no one has any secrets. We start taging everyone upon birth. Now we know where everyone is at all times. What they buy, who they hang out with, Where they go.
Dose this scare anyone? 9 out of 10 dictators agree. Gun control works. You are safer when you are watched. Cerfew is a much more paletable word than marshal law. | | | | | Joined: Oct 2003 Posts: 209 Member | | Member Joined: Oct 2003 Posts: 209 | My school ( www.psdschools.org) has a thing where people can see our grades, assignments and attendance records.. Yay! Let's disarm law abidding citizens (you don't seriously believe that the /criminals/ are going to follow the law, do you?)..

Soooo there is a system networked of coursee that can tell where all these kids are? | | | | | Joined: Jul 2004 Posts: 21 Junior Member | | Junior Member Joined: Jul 2004 Posts: 21 | Next we'll have tags that parents can put on their children so that they know where they are at all times. Now, I am seventeen and I live over 1300 miles from either of my parents and just the thought of anyone knowing where I am at any time, let alone my parents, is scary. It's an invasion of privacy, even if I am a minor. It's crazy.
Now of course this 'system' will be faulty. People, maybe even one of you, will hack it and disappear. I know I would. I value my education more than anything. But if this starts up in the states, I'm out of there. Of course, this would take many years for the U.S. to accept so I'd probably be a college grad by that time anyway.
Screwing a system near you.
