Western Digital is beginning to release a new hard drive. Western Digital began shipping the hard drive over the past week. The newest upgrade of the hard drive is that it will range from 120GB to 200GB. The new hard drive will also spin at 7200rpm.
The company named the new drive "Drivezilla." This will be over 80Gb more storage than most computers currently have. They created "Drivezilla" by increasing the density. This helps them put 66.7Gb of data on a platter. A platter resembles a CD.
The people who will benefit from this drive are those who store video and photos. Its closest competitor on the market only offers 160Gbs, and a slower rpm speed of only 5400. Due to the increase in technology, drives may reach 400Gb by next year.
