Astronomers Thursday uncovered a planet orbiting a star in the Orion constellation, without actually seeing any light from it.

It was deduced the planet exists because the star "wiggles." Astronomers, using the Hobby-Eberly Telescope, determined that the planet is a gas giant, roughly 2.8 times larger than Jupiter.

The Hobby-Eberly Telescope, in Texas, is designed using 91 hexagonally shaped mirrors spread out across a 30 foot surface, all to collect light from space.
