Study Confirms: People Who Download Music Online Buy More Music!

Jupiter Media Metrix did a study of P2P downloaders and 35% of the users reported they now spend more money purchasing music than they did before they started downloading mp3s. Most P2P fanatics happen to be avid music collectors.

In fact people with the Internet who do not use P2P services stated they spend less on music than those who do. Despite all the hoopla that P2P hurts music sales, a mere 15% of the P2P users said they spend less on music than before.

Jupiter also reports that music spending habits have not suffered from high speed connections or Cd-R technology. The recording industry, however, continues to say they lost 5% of their sales because of P2P. This study says P2P is good for the them.
