Breast cancer has claimed the life of Mary-Ellis Bunim who was 57 years old. Bunim worked with Jonathan Murray to create MTV's "The Real World" which many regard as the first big reality television series.

Most recently, Bunim and Murray produced Fox's "The Simple Life" which introduced the world to Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie. They also produced "Making the Band" and "Starting Over."

Bunim started producing with Murray in 1987 after a stint she had producing soap operas. "The Real World" is now in its 14th season.
