Microsoft are saying that the quick arrest of the German teen behind the Sasser virus, sn reported, was due to their $5 million fund for rewarding informants.

"Aware of this program, individuals in Germany approached Microsoft investigators," Brad Smith, general counsel for Microsoft said. "We did not hesitate and made a decision to offer a reward of $250,000."

Security experts and German police are also of the opinion that the teenager was behind most, if not all variants of the Netsky mass-mailing computer virus.
