Class action lawsuits have once again been filed against the Microsoft Corporation by cities and counties in California. The suits claim that Microsoft uses its monopoly to forbid agencies top freely choose software products.

The suits, filed by five counties and two cities, also claim that Microsoft uses its market power to charge prices that are too high. San Fransisco said through Dennis Herrera, attorney for the city, that It's anticompetitive.

Herrera went on to say: It's predatory, and it denies consumers, and in this case taxpayers, the benefits of innovation that a free marketplace should provide. US$1.1 billion has already been awarded to Californian consumers in previous suits.
