China says the PC game Project IGI2: Covert Strike discredits the national image of China and has banned the game from sale. Freelance mercenaries in the game steal intelligence and conduct sabotage in China.

The game which was made by Oslo-based Innerloop Studios, and published by British firm Codemasters, is a first-person shooter game, featuring an ex SAS member on missions throughout the world, not just in, but including China.

Officials in China say that all copies will be confiscated and publishers, producers, and sellers within China would receive punishment for violating laws for the introduction and publication of games.
