Currently, Microsoft dominates the area of software tools used to search for information stored on one's computer. According to "The New York Times," Microsoft is expected to add this to its release of Longhorn.

Google is entering the game with a file and text software search tool which finds things stored on one's computer. Google has yet to comment on the specifics of this software.

Google is busy anticipating its initial public offering which is estimated to be up to $2.7 billion.
