Unexplained radio signals received through the SETI project are being studied to determine if they could possibly be coming from an alien civilization.

The signal is coming from a specific location between the Pisces and Aries constellations in deep space, and have been picked up three times by a telescope in Puerto Rico.

Astronomers across the world are excited, but they are aware that other explanations such as astronomical phenomenon and byproducts from the telescope itself would have to be ruled out first.

If you go to the SETI@Home site they are saying that it's not as big of a deal as everyone is making it out to be. From what I understand they found a series of signals that were timed so as to have a high probability of successful contact. I like your Cracky avatar btw.

heh...the truth be it...the ppl that put out the starter article that started this craze didn't get authorization, and they had half facts. But yea seti confirms that their arecibo signal list the one from a large collection that was run through that waz made up of all the great signals they had to rescan for any signals that are active..hit once...one great signal..that was still active...they know this is possible, and some of the other ones could be just timed by month or year, bla bla..their working with limits here ppl:|

anyway they um..said something along the lines of that it doesn't move like a planet, so their not being SOOOO serious...like they would on first contact...heh..odd they say this...as it could be any number of things, including a asteriod or spaceship...heh...far be it for seti to question the source of the signal, and not the viable signal first eh?! denial it seems ya...odd...their down playing it, as is everybody that has access.

which is totally against what seti is made for. this isn't nasa, or the government, this is were giving up our pc's for your use...so you can get 1000's of years or millions in processing done FOR FREE. you greedy idiots, it's the human race, and it should be shared....and info given up freely/right away EVEN IF...it's not "THAT BIG A DEAL"....gah...that's my 2 cents...I gotta sleep for resident evil:apocalypse tonight...I'd rather chill on some zombie movie readiness sleep myself then take this any further...I say if seti does this for real...everyone should start a protest or online petition or movement to stop using their service/seti@home till they do something about it public wise...because it's not just THAT EASY. Get on cnn...talk to the millions giving up their space, processing, bandwidth for your use...or lose a great majority...yea..two cents...
