Certicom Corp in the US have laid down the gauntlet to hackers everywhere - crack their Elliptic Curve Cryptology code and take away a million bucks. It will be a tough mix of algebra and algorithms that will stand between the winner and the prize.
The encryption program is designed to be used on many devices and networks, including mobile phones, PDA's and wireless transmission/reception.
Their 224-bit key, using the ECC technology, is as secure as an RSA-format 2048-bit key. Your average secure website will typically offer 128 bits in its SSL standard.
