Two US Senators have proposed a bill that says if you are caught in possession of a Camcorder in a US cinema, you could face up to five years in jail. Under the proposed bill, even if you innocently happen to carry one in the cinema.
Should you be charged with a second offence then you face up to 10 years in prison even if you have no intent to publish your footage. A similar law is in place in a few US states, but this bill would make it a Federal offence.
What this means is that it will be more severely punished than say a person carrying a firearm into the same cinema. Source
