The US Citizenship and Immigration Services began taking applications for the H-1B immigrant visa, which allows companies to hire and import skilled workers into the US for up to six years, on Friday.
The limit for this visa is 65,000 applicants. That limit was reached at the end of the workday on Friday.
While the applications limit has been reached, no H1-B visas have been issued for 2005 yet. High Tech companies are pushing US legislators to increase the limit for the H-1B visa.
