The top Linux seller, Red Hat, has released an update to its Enterprise Linux 3 to add support for Intel's 64-bit "x86" processors and IBM's Power processor-based JS20 blade servers.

The update pack, which was released Wednesday, also includes 64-bit versions of developer tools which are compatible with Intel's Itanium and Xeon chips and Advanced Micro Devices' Opteron.

Its hobbyist Linux version, Fedora, is also to have an updated version released.
