Rap superstar Eminem is suing computer giant Apple Computer Inc., claiming that the company used his hit "Lose Yourself" without his permission in an iTunes commercial. Eminem also claims he can earn over US$10 million for endorsing a product.

The suit was filed last Friday in the US District Court in Detroit, by Eight Mile Style who claim that use of Eminem's song is a copyright infringement. Defendants also named in the suit include MTV, Viacom Inc and an advertising agency.

The suit states that "At no time did Apple, Chiat/Day (the advertising agency) or MTV receive authorization or permission to record, reproduce, perform, transmit, copy, use or otherwise exploit the composition for any purpose."
