PHILADELPHIA (Reuters) - Philadelphia has finished testing its wireless Internet project, setting the stage for America's biggest citywide Wi-Fi network that will also offer access to low-income households, officials said on Thursday.
From the source "Access (to wi fi)is free in parks and other outdoor spaces", I found it funny how this will encourage people to go to the park, but to surf the net on lap tops. Bring on 2050.
They're talking about putting one here in Portland, but it'd be a ways off... I think it'd be pretty cool to not have to hop on a free node or wardrive and just be able to hop on anywhere... With any luck they'll have coverage out in SE and it'll support WEP so I can hop on with my PDA...
