So, I have a toshiba notebook, that has a built in wi-fi finder. The problem is their are so many wi-fi singals that are in encrypted until...it take's awhile to find one that's not...I was wondering if their's away to tell at a glance...by looking at the series of numbers if they network is encrypted or not?.

What WIFI finder is it? If you have a network card (wireless) you can run NetStubmler and it can tell on the fly what networks are available and their status...

Actually, it's kinda like a radar(only toshiba satellite notebooks have it) it show's you excactly where the wi-fi singal is...but their's no way to tell if it's encrypted or not...Unless, you click on all the singals...

But it's software? if so, can I get a screenshot of it?

It'll be slightly hard to give any info without knowing precisely what it is...

My god man, all that I want to know is if it's software or hardware... Now that I know it's software, I'd recommend using Network Stumbler over it if you want to achieve what you're wanting to achieve...

Network Stumbler is a free wireless scanner, obtainable from here
