well I tried Parallel Knoppix on the four computers I have with me at college. I got everything working and made my own little cluster of computers. There was one problem though, the jump drive I used for the parallel_knoppix_working directory only had 1KB of free space which wasn't enough space for the example software. After I backed up and cleared my drive I set up everything again and it wasn't enough for all of the example software provided, but I could run a few and that was worth my time, still waiting for my external hard drive case for situations like these.
The computers I used were:
Master: HP Intel pentium M processor 1.73GHz with 2GB of RAM
Slave1: Gateway Intel Pentium M processor 1.6GHz with 504MB of RAM
Slave2: Gateway Intel Pentium 3 processor 648MHz with 384MB of RAM
Slave3: Dell Intel pentum 2 processor 200MHz with 130MB of RAM
That's about it, I'm going to mess around with this for a while, maybe even see if I could cluster one of the computer labs and see what I get.
By the way, Gizmo. what kind of parts do you need? Most of the computer stuff I have is archaic.
