There are no deep philosophical underpinnings to anarchy. Actually, there IS philosophy on anarchy. I've read lots of it. Not suprisingly, a lot of it is about how anarchy DOESN'T work as a successful, functioning government, but is only successful in poetry. But you wouldn't know about such literature because you think that ... anarchy is is a bunch of ignorant suburban kids who think they can make a difference. This is where your wrong. Anarchy has been around a lot longer than bored, pissed off suburban kids. Just because said people happened to be interested in it, doesn't mean it makes up all anarchist worldwide. Open your mind. If this shit bothers you so much why don't you stay out of the discussion. Let the "ignorant" people carry on their thoughts of the subject without your crued pointless criticism. Not to be disrespectful, but this IS the fucking anarchy section of the board. What else should we talk about?

Since when do we have a debate forum? I just think it pointless for unreal to come in and start slaming on people who are interested in something. Granted they have the wrong idea about it, some don't even HAVE an idea about it. Regardless, they're just trying to broaden their knowledge, nothing wrong with that. The only problem is that people mistake anarchy for pointless criminal activity.

If you want to destroy shit and wreak mindless havok upon everything, your probably an anarchist, or a psychopath. They have a place for these people that want to oppose the rules, its called prison. The dictionary calls it a Utopian Society with out rules, Fuck that. It also calls it disorder, that's more like it. All these people who think anarchy is some great society with no leaders where everyone is lives in harmony and everything is great has mistaken it for communism where everyone is equal and shares and blah blah blah. All the shit that will never happen because people are, greedy, jealous, envious, selfish, generally fucked in the head... I'm sure you get the picture. I really dont give a fuck about what someone wrote in a book a few hundred years ago when everyone was wrong about the world being flat. I don't know about you, but my utoipia has order. Anarchy would deffinately NOT be utopian it would be more like hell; disorder, chaos, wide-spread panic. It would be a society with no repercutions for your actions. Now we live in a society of fear. We all live in fear. why didnt you kill that kid that made fun of you? Take that thing you wanted from the store? Fear of the rules. Fear of the repercutions. Anyone who leads a lawless life is an anarchist. Everytime you step out of line you practice anarchy. Does this lifestyle lead to anywhere? Prison or early death. Does unreal doing whatever he wants fit under anarchy? Damn straight. Do bombs and people nearly blowing themselves up fit under anarchy? yeah. Is it gonna be funny laughing at the gimps missing fingers cause they blew them off? Hell yeah!

Thank you Asteos I simply want to broaden my knowledge of Anarchy.
I guess the thought of a Utoipia is something in which we will never achive, not just because people are greedy bastards, but also because every ones idea of a perfect "system" is different. My idea of perfect may be toatally different compared to yours.

Barcelona, Spain actully had a Utopia (kind of), from Anarchy around the 1920's, however that failed when it got close to WW2. "every ones idea of a perfect "system" is different." Very true Reaper.

Knowledge is power.
"Dare to take the road to knowledge power information."
Sound familiar?

So if knowledge is power, does that make hacking a form of anarchy? Or is it just in the category all its own? I have also explored the hacker philosophy and I like the idea of the freeing of information.

Anarchy = The absense of a government.
Yeah, it sounds like a good idea. There is no government but somehow everyone gets along and survives well. That's the Utopian view. No rules, but everyone is civil.
Realistically, it would never happen. People need leadership and rules, and people need to lead and make rules.
Yeah, it's also chaos. Nowadays it's used generally for when someone ignores the rules, since in effect there are none. A riot? Anarchy.
Kids breaking shit and deciding to wreck their school? Dumbasses.
Listen, a utopian society existing in anarchy would never work. Blowing aerosal cans up in order to get rid of authority is pointless and stupid. My advice is to forget about anarchy. Spend some more time reading books(I'd recommend Hobbes and Locke, in addition to Plato. May as well read Machiaveli, too.) Then, when you actually know something about the world and political philosphies, reexamine anarchy. Then you'll understand.
I repeat: All you want to do know is call yourself anarchist because it's 'cool' and 'counter-culture' and you like to cause trouble. Fucking childish and stupid.
And about the 'hacker philosophy:' fuck it. Some people like to free information and code, some people like the thrill of hacking a server, some people like to program, some people like to cause trouble. The hacker society is unorganized and, for the most part, extremely diverse. There are loads of different definitions of what a hack er is, so until you can get a single definition for the word, fuck anyone that spouts off about some philosophy. Do what you enjoy and think is right. You like the idea of free information. That is a good thing, many other people do. Learn more about computers, learn more about, well, a lot of things. Don't try and prescribe to some philosophy though, make your own god damn beliefs and ideas.
Heh, feel free to atack.
