I also suggest looking into boot magic, its a nice gui boot prompt which allows you to chose which partation to boot from. And yes, use partation magic instead of fdisk, for people who don't know how to use fdisk they can totally fuck over the computers. And you don't really want to have to send it back to the company to have them fix it? do you?
If you have some spare cash, i suggest that you just go out and find an old computer you can install it on. I currently have linux installed on a p200 with 84 meg of ram. It works wonderfully in the command shell. and it cost me 100 bux to put it together. And i can use both of my machines at one time.
