Sony BMG announced today that they will be recalling CDs with the company's copy-protection installed on some music CDs. Consumers had voiced concern because the software made way for at least three computer viruses.
Sony BMG announced in a statement that "We share the concerns of consumers regarding discs with XCP content-protected software, and, for this reason, we are instituting a consumer exchange programme and removing all unsold CDs with this software..."
Sony had initially denied the copy-protection was a problem. No artist names or CD details were given in the statement.
