Accountant Mark Maughan recently ran web searches of his name and is now suing Google, Yahoo, Time Warner and AOL because he found "alarming results." His attorney, John A. Girardi, blames the PageRank algorithm search system Google uses.

The suit says search results claim they "have been disciplined for gross negligence, for failing to timely submit a client's claim for refund of overpayment of taxes, and for practicing as a CPA without a permit."

Google blames the state board site for presenting the information which came up in the search results. Girardi says the information is not presented on that site. Girardi is seeking an injunction which would stop Google from using PageRank.
