A Canadian ISP, Cogeco, appears to be warning its users against using Bit Torrent to share copyrighted files. These warnings have been emailed out to users, under DMCA law, which means nothing in Canada.

The Bit Torrent tracker most targeted is the Swedish suprnova.org tracker. MPAA emails to the ISP's are also believed to be advising limitations on suprnova.org. The Swedish site offers free downloads of music, games, software and movies.

These actions can be compared to the letters sent out to European users over the past years from their ISP's concerning their P2P activity. It is the latest attempt to reduce the number of P2P users.
