hi

when i connected to a ftp server and i must type my loginname i write anonymous
ok so far so good
but when i have to type the password
the keyboard don�t write any letter
when i want to write somethin like [email protected]
nothin appears on the screen
but when i push enter he goes on and said that
the loginname and password were wrong

is it a msdos bug or am i to dumb?
i use the msdos console in winxp
and my msdos version is 5.1.2600

does he check if the adress exist or not?
or depends it on the ftp server?

Depends on the server. it may not allow anonymous logins. A security feature of a lot of ftpd's is to not tell a user that the username is invalid, thereby not confirming anything about potential usernames a would be cracker could use.
