So I am building a utility flash drive. You know one of those USB thumb drive things we all love.

I have 512mb storage.

So far I have

Hijack this
Adaware SE
Spybot search and destroy
Trojan hunter
bazooka

BcWipe
Best Crypt

outpost
zonealarm
zone alarm security suit

Winzip
Winace
Win rar

winXP pro boot dsk
WinXP home boot dsk
Win 98 SE boot dsk

various ISO file readers
various keyloggers
various undelete progys

Firefox 1.0
ghost surf(ip masker)

Anything you would add? I am hoping to build something to take where ever I go planning on fixing someones system. Do not ask about the keyloggers. Use your imagination.

PuTTY

I like the SSH client from here as it's the onlyone I've used which allows SSH certificates for user authentication.

You should also get a copy of Maxtor's MaxBlast (I can probably dig up a copy later, but I'll need to find where Icey and I threw our box of software from the appt).

Also, this could seem as a good project for anyone who is interested in utility drives for computer security; please keep us updated on any advances you make in your project.

If by certificates you mean private key authentication, then PuTTY does it. If not then i dunno.

As for the keydrive thing... WinZip, WinAce, and WinRar on there is a waste. Just use (IMO) WinRar and be done with it. There is no need for all three as the latter two do all WinZip does and more.

I'd prolly throw something like ehtereal on there too (I have not checked how big it is so forgive me if it's friggin huge) and a lightweight scanner like superscan (assuming this is for win systems or I'd say nmap).

Another thought is to make the keydrive itself bootable. Not all bios' will support this, I realize, but for those that do it'd be real handy.

How about fdisk ? NTPasswd ? PWDump2 ? JTR ? TomsRTBT ?

I know I got more to add yet....

I had one of those portal USB drives, i had a 512Mb one that i used for College.

Those things break SO easy, it isnt even funny. I droped one from my hand, it hit the ground (not hard or anything). Next day, not realizing it broke when i droped it, tried to put them in the USB slot. Didnt work..

Was PIST, 1 year of work down the toilet (i didnt make a back up either, learned my lesson smirk )

I have windows XP Ultimate bootdisk to handle soooo many tasks, but it would take up all the space on the flash drive.

Bringing this back to the top.

I've decided that I want to make my own linux livecd for some reason. Looking for some input on what to put on it. Any fav unix tools out there I might not know about?
