I noticed that there aren't any posts on music. You guys just not into it? For anybody out there who is into odd stuff... There's a group called Apocalyptica that plays Metallica songs on chellos. It ends up soudning pretty sic. And for anybdoy inot classical music and rock, the Trans-Siberian Orchestra crosses the two genres. They play a lot of x-mas music, but you can find other stuff to.
Posted By: Gremelin Re: Music - 12/02/02 12:32 PM
There have been a few posts on music actually :x...

Check out this post for example, we discuss differant likings in the area of Electronica.

I for one love Electronica (Rave, Trance, Techno), Classical, and other types of music, I however don't like Metal too much :x.
Posted By: Drake Re: Music - 12/02/02 01:58 PM
i'm not all that into electronica. i'm starting to get into a bit though. I like The Crystal Method, and i like the remixed classical songs. my bad about missin that post. you inot classic rock at all? jimi hendrix, led zeppelin, the eagles, etc.?

rock ownz.
Posted By: Mornse Re: Music - 12/03/02 12:08 AM
[censored], the Eagles, Zeppelin, Beatles and other old rock stuff is awesome. But I also listen to a lot of newer, not so well known rock/indie/folk type music. Ben Harper, Jack Johnson, Pedro The Lion, Hayden, Jeff Buckly, David Gray and then of course, amazing bands such as The Strokes, The Hives, Radiohead and Coldplay. I'm big into music, I play guitar and am in a band (kind of, basically we just play all the time, not official or anything).
Posted By: Imperial Re: Music - 12/04/02 12:17 AM
what's that new band on the radio that does stuff that sounds like hendrix, anyone know?
Posted By: Gremelin Re: Music - 12/04/02 12:20 AM
I'm into Techno/Classical/Country/Alternative (very little alternative) anything else is a waste of my time.

I think eminem gets it in the [censored] more than optix, and thats not saying much lol... bi people piss me off, especailly when they pretend their not to everyone but their "friends"...

Who cares what music you like, when you get right down to it, the only opinion that matters is your own.

PS, I like blues travler, brian white, savage garden, and tim mcgraw too frown .

Posted By: Mornse Re: Music - 12/05/02 04:39 AM
Moffesto, you have some damn good bands on there, like The Vines, Nirvana, Foo Fighters, RHCP and [censored], but then you go and ruin it by putting on [censored] like Box Car Racer, New Found Glory and [censored]. *shakes head* course, that is your opinion, and I respect it, but i hate those bands. hehe.

good list jon

I have to throw in Rage Against the Machine, I started to get into them and then they break up...oh well, we've got audioslave now
Posted By: SilentRage Re: Music - 12/05/02 02:59 PM
What I've found I liked most recently is electronic industrial. Basically, it's like metal and electronica mixed into one style. I haven't found too much music in that genre, but here's what converted me:

Artist: Theatre of Tragedy
Album: Assembly

1st song: Automatic Lover

They're a goth metal group who's started experimenting with electronica in their music. Oh man, hearing that hard revving guitar and electronic sounds adding effect, not to mention the dark flavor due to their goth background. shweeeeeeeet... btw, it's a chick singer. Gotta love that. smile
Posted By: Cold Sunn Re: Music - 12/05/02 10:01 PM
I agree with almost every band jon posted. Jon, have you heard that song "Spasmoytilic" or something? I am not sure but I think Deftones did it as a remix of some Skinny Puppy song.

to jon's i add...

junkie xl
mindless self indulgence
pitchshifter

Oh, and just started listening to MSI lately. I owned Frankenstein Girls Will Seem Slightly Sexy and just downloaded Tight. They seem like a neo-ween. I like it alot.

http://maddox.xmission.com - site of Maddox "Best Page in the Universe"

Also, I just finished downloading some songs that were in The Boondock Saints (awesome movie) and "Terminal Velocity" composed by Garvin Griffiths is awesome. There is this techno/opera song in the movie too that I can't find, but I think you would like it Drake. This page, http://www.hdssarms.com/boondocksaints/soundtrack/ , might have it on there...we will see.

Also, I found another cool electronica song a few days ago: Future Sound Of London - We Have Explosive. Very awesome.
Posted By: Drake Re: Music - 12/22/02 07:58 AM
i donwloaded terminal velocity and we have explosives, those are both cool. I'd love to download all those songs and see if one of them was the techno/opera mix, but unfortunatly that would take me about 5 hours, min. lol. you ever hear the song that goes "if we do not exist for this, then why do we exist?" it's called live for the music. it's pretty good.
