Tradicionally, Palms were restricted to a low capacity of RAM memory, but with the transfer to the new 32-bit ARM processors this thing could change. Since 16 MB are not enough, in the PalmSource company they decided that the OS 5.2 should support up to 128 MB RAM memory. Of course, this doesn't mean that the other producers of these equipments will decide to put that much memory on them.
The growth of the capacity for RAM memories that will be supported on these equipments will actually help PALM to get closer to the Pocket PC systems. Of cousre, by knowing the current market sistuation, every improvement in Palm is more then wellcome !!!

What do you guys think about this ?

I dont think palm technology is far enough along to actually utilize that much ram, sounds redundant and wasteful to me, they should beef up they data storage and processor capabilities in my opinion, a palm pilot with the full capabilities of a 486 personal computer for under $400 would make much more sense..

I agree with you in your last sentence Chem, but they actually did go far enough to utilize that much ram as you said.. it's not waistfull coz who knows, maybe if they improve the other capabilities, it could get even more closer to the Pocket PC.. but anyway it's interesting how technology grows everyday so rapidly !!
