my sister is geting a new ipod with fire wire hook ups how much do you think it will cost to get a fire wire port on my dell and how much a swich box or conecter to usb will cost

btw: dont get a converter, get the stinkin pci card. Otherwise there is no point of geting the firewire as you'll still have the bottleneck of usb2.

Just let her get the firewire and you get the firewire -> USB converter for you. As it's her ipod you shouldn't have to go out and buy a new card, besides, you probably cherrish your free PCI slots as much as I do lol...

yea your right if she does not listen she should spend her money on the converter
