im just starting to tinker with pc boards and i have no idea where i can find a 0.01 UF capaitor.

Capacitors are always a bitch to identify when working on circuits. Mostly because they have many different types of identifiers and there are lots of different types with different functions. If i had more time I'd write something up myself, but I think you will find the information here useful
