British troops claim that terrorists are using images from Google Earth to plan attacks on their bases in Iraq after detailed printouts from the program, complete with coordinates, were discovered in raids.

British bases in Iraq come under daily fire. The armed forces believe the detailed imagery is being used to identify weak areas in military bases. Some soldiers are considering suing Google Earth if they are injured in attacks made using the maps.

Google says that they are open to government's requests. However many feel that it may be too late as the maps are already circulating. "terrorist[s] now have the maps and know exactly where we eat, sleep and go to the toilet," said one soldier.

Anyone ever heard the term "problem, reaction, solution?

Many Government officials have for some time fought the google earth product. Terrorists are supposed to be our great threat. They supposedly have enough money to buy nuclear weapons, and enough resources to pull off 9/11 (yea right).

So now this. Looks like the Government might get there way.

Problem - Terrorists(oh my) fighters get precise layout of military bases. Troops die.

Reaction - The public crys out this much stop. Something must be done.

Solution - Google is forced to take their google earth down. Other similar products are outlawed.

Keep in mind terrorists are supposed to be well funded and very organized. Maybe they are using google earth. But they are our big threat. They are not supposed to HAVE to use a free service that has images over 1 year old on it.
