Hello, I was just wondering what are some essential books that every newbie geek should have in their library?

i suggest u have a browse on the general board under the Good Reading thread.
it covers everything u need in becoming the ultimate literate geek.
The original post by Gizmo is probably the best advice to follow as the books are categorized, links to them are provided and the list is fairly recent.
the rest of the posts get fairly messy and there are some repeats.
giz just has this 'neatness and order' freak type personality ul soon learn to appreciate.

naw... I got my start on UGN by telling Giz off. Best part was Learner took the fall for that one
