The National Institute of Culture in Peru have put two mummies on display, which were found by construction workers at a school, who were so well preserved that even though they are believed to be the oldest found there, internal organs were intact.

The mummies were about 700 years old, and belonged to a people that roamed South America before the Spanish took over in the early 1500's. They are a boy, aged about 5 and a farmer in his mid thirties.

An archeologist for the National Culture Institute said that "What is striking is the level of conservation (of the mummies). You can see his eyeball. It's perfectly preserved." The mummies were found on the 12th of February.
