Microsoft says that Internet Explorer users are no longer at risk because a Russian web site which contained malicious code was shut down. As mentioned on Shortnews earlier, people were diverted to the Russian site from major web sites.

Microsoft said the Russian site contained the Download.Ject program which is says is not a worm or a virus; it is merely a "targeted manual attack by individuals or entities towards a specific server." Microsoft says the site went offline Thursday.

Microsoft says as far as it can tell there was not a major impact on customers even though the Russian site sent a keystroke logger onto peoples' computers. Microsoft says it is trying to work with law enforcement to find the guilty parties.
