Applied Digital Solutions, a US based company has made a new chip called 'VeriChip' which is a Radio Frequency Identification chip which when scanned can deduct money from your bank account.

A Spanish nightclub which is having implant nights on Tuesday's will be the first to use the chip, giving clubbers the chance to pay for drinks and admission and not have to wait in a queue.

The chip doesn't have to be implanted just into the hand, but the chip can be injected into any other part of the body that is able to be flashed in front of the scanner.

Xup. Hey, those "Verichip" are the marks of the beast which is talked in the bible. Believe me man, I thought that was just bedtime stories, but is real. The study of the perfect places to put the chip said that are: right hand or forehead(check Revelations book/*ya know, the last of the bible*/, chapter 13, verse 16-18 talks about it) Check http://www.4verichip.com and you'll find that. If anyone is interested, i got a ppt with more info, but it is in spanish. I'll translate it soon.
very interesting... I prefer to keep my cards in my pocket though lol...
Im gunna put one in my butt cheek. That way every time i buy something I moon the scanner.

Very nice!

I will never get a chip inside my body. I have read the bible too many times, watched too many Sci Fi Movies, and know the government is not to be trusted.

A chip inside your body.. Think about this people. What after that? If you do not behave you get a shock? The U.S. Government has spent billions on researching mind control through sound and fequency. Who is to say these chips can not be locked onto and used to emit a certain freq. Or a range of freq's.
well as the programme states, each is unique; so it's possible..
you guys are scaring me [censored] that
i will neva get a chip in me [censored] that =(
now way that is just freaky i will stick to my luck with credidt cards that you hold i would not care if someone stole it cause i can cansel it but if a lunitic cuts my hand off what then
hmmm, the new age of creditcard fraud... chopping off peoples hands...
it is not funny there are probably crazy people out there that will realy do that
yes chop ur hand off then implant the chip into ur hand. the joys of fraud
=)
Probably wouldn't have to do that now...

Check it out. Some kid develops a scanner emulator. He carrys is PDA into the mall setting off everyones chip and recording all data sent back. Now you have what needs to be sent to the machine. That would be even worse.

Wireless tech with sesative info is a misstake IMO. I mean it is only a matter of time before any encryption is broken. Before the freq is figured out. The protocol is broken down. But what do I know right.

who is to say we all dont already have a chip in us somewhere. What if we thought we were going to the DR for a physical and they give us a shot or so we thought.

Because Dr's are too many in numbers. It would get out. Plus you can see these chips and feel then in the skin at this point. It is like a little bump. Dr.'s.... Nahhh someone would talk. Now maybe a natinal flue bug with a speacial flu shot only given at designated locations.... But your local doc who live in your community... Nah. And people think I am paranoid.
So how bout our military men and women they could put a chip in them. That would be just like our government to use them as test subjects. And then claim they had no idea it was happening.

I don't think we have chips in us (our bodies). What wouldn't be hard to do is stick one of them in your sneakers you just bought with your credit card at Foot Locker. These chips can not be destroyed by like microwave either. You would actually have to melt them. They're already putting these little guys on the things we buy. That's where we need to be looking, not in our right hands and forheads.

As for the issue of stealing that information... I agree, it would be very easy to "ping" the device and emulate a reader. Then you have all the information you need. If there are multiple layers to this information transaction then I would feel safer. A simple data trans like...

A>B Hey whats your number
B>A My number is ... xxxx

is creepy. If there was a way to setup an asymetric encryption channel, that would be preferrable.
