AUSTIN, Texas - Texas State Representitive Al Edwards has introduced legislation that if passed would ban "sexy" cheerleading at sporting events throughout the state.

Edwards, a 26-year veteran of the Texas House, wants to put an end to the type of bumping and grinding that makes cheerleading what it is today. Under the proposed law, schools that permit sexually suggestive moves could have state funding reduced.

Edwards stated, "It's just too sexually oriented, you know, the way they're shaking their behinds and going on, breaking it down." He added, "And then we say to them, 'don't get involved in sex unless it's marriage or love, it's dangerous out there."
